Sick Buildings?

Is Your Building Sick?

Sick Building Syndrome is a term which is used to describe the cause of many symptons that are attributed to Quality of Air, Light and Atmosphere. In many buildings today we have air conditioning, no windows and flourescent lighting and these things among others can cause the building's occupants and visitors to feel uncomfortable or even unwell.

Some of the symptons include itchy eyes, sore throats, respiratory problems, headaches and feelings of fatigue and tiredness. These symptons often occur when working in a building with "Sick Building Syndrome" and very often go away after leaving such a building.

Causes of Sick Building Syndrome are thought to be poor or inadequate fresh air, bright or poor lighting. Contaminated Fresh Air Supply Systems can send particles of dust and debris into the air, that people are breathing in, within buildings. All AHU's (Air Handling Units) and their filters and other components including ductwork should be regularly maintained and cleaned to avoid fresh air contamination within your building.

Our Monitoring Services will enable you to forget this part of the running of your building, let us check your systems efficiency. Six Monthly Status Reporting will keep you in touch with the air quality of your office or workplace. The recommended quantity of fresh air in a room is at least 8 litres per person per second as recommended by The Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers.

Also available from Venti-Clean is Swab Testing Service for all Supply Systems, Ducting and Air Handling Units.

These tests are useful in the early detection of bacteria and diseases, such as Liegonella (Legionnaires Disease).
